New grooves of Taylormade R11 irons
I contend the new grooves we've put on the Taylormade R11 irons are better today than grooves were in the past because we know more now," says Bret Wahl, senior director of iron development at TaylorMade, who indicated the new groove design produces 16 percent more spin on a pitching wedge from the fairway than in the Burner 2.0 iron. Anyone familiar with TaylorMade will find some of the usual technology enhancements; Inverted Cone Technology to expand the sweet spot, a Precision Weight Port to optimize the center of gravity, a thin unsupported face for higher COR and faster ball speeds and a multi functional sole that helps in a variety of different lies. These are longer than my normal clubs by about 1 clublength. I'd say the long irons are a bit longer than that, possibly a club and a half. I'd add a 3 iron if I could. I think it's easy to hit. With Burner 2.0s, every once in a while, there'd be that flyer that would travel 15 yards further on an dead, solid perfect strike. I have not experienced that with these. Distance is long and consistent. ___________________________ discount golf clubs Titleist 910F-D Fairway Wood callaway razr x irons callaway x-24 hot irons |
