importance of Titleist 910 D3 Driver shaft
I am constantly changing drivers (within the last year I have owned G15-longest of all and R9 Supertri-right in the middle) but Titleist 910 D3 Driver was the first one that I have been properly fitted for (demo day at our golf club). Big difference when you begin reviewing the numbers and understanding the most important part of this equation...the shaft. If you think of the head as the body of the car (nice to look at), the shaft is what makes the driver work. I tried multiple shafts (4+) and eventually was fitted into a Graphite Design Tour AD DI6 shaft...great shaft and a little pricey but worth the current results. Please do yourself a favor and discuss these options with your golf professional. The head itself is traditional and I prefer smaller heads on my drivers (just a comfort thing for me I guess). I have tweaked the head a bit to help minimize spin and reduce the loft which has helped to maximize distance and accuracy. As mentioned above, distance has improved slightly over the R9 (G15 was very long) but my accuracy has improved greatly. If you get anything out of reading this, please just get fitted and understand the importance of the shaft. _____________________________ callaway diablo edge irons Ping Anser Forged Irons Ping G20 irons Ping G20 driver |
