If you recently rented a car from a company and they offered you a special discount on the vehicle, you might think you are guaranteed to get this same discount on the rental car when you need to rent again. However, this is not necessarily the case. The market for rental cars is always changing, and this means the rates for these cars will vary almost every time you use a rental car company.
Rental companies can change their rates on vehicles from one day to the next. This is why it is smart to shop online. Take some time each day of the week to compare prices on these vehicles and see if you can find the best day to rent one. You may end up paying less on a Thursday than you would on a Wednesday, so you should try to check as much as you can because of how frequently rates vary. Shoppers who frequently use the Internet know how important it is to look at different sites and compare prices. It just takes some extra effort and persistence. If you happen to be shopping around for a rental vehicle at a peak vacation time such as during the summer, it's important to get a reservation for a car that will let you cancel the reservation if you find a better rate elsewhere. Just make sure you make the reservation before you are left paying a higher price when you could have secured the better price sooner. The best way to shop around is to choose five companies that have locations in the region that you are considering renting in and then documenting each company's prices over a five-day period. Doing so will allow you to see the mean price that each company is charging and this will likely help you to select the lowest price rental with the best overall company. In order to best accomplish this however, you must make sure that you accurately represent the price that each company is offering so make sure to not only document the price that you are being charged but do so including all taxes and surcharges and be sure to note how many miles will be included and how much for each additional mile. Many times it is the over mile charges that wind up costing people an arm and a leg. You should also find out when the rental car places are actually open. If their hours are not extremely convenient for your needs, you may want to look into a different company with more suitable hours. It also depends on where these agencies are located at how quickly it is to get to them. You don't want to be stuck with your rental car for an extra day. Of course, when it comes to vehicle rentals you will very likely want to select a company that you are familiar with even if you have to pay a little bit more but you may want to ask them if they have a customer loyalty card or rewards program that you can participate in that can help to save you money. Even these little things can add up to big savings down the road. used toyota yaris |
